BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY

The inspiration for my final project came from the tension between painful realities and outward joy. Throughout my life, I’ve engaged with the concept of camouflage as both a protective and concealing tool. I explored the connection between everyday defense mechanisms and military defenses, examining how clothing can serve as a shield. My collection uses colors and prints that create an illusion – cheerful at first glance, but revealing tears and painful motifs up close. I drew inspiration from military cuts and my everyday clothes that make me feel protected, using materials like leather, raffia, heavy denim, and wool to explore the conflict between protection and roughness. The streetwear collection for men and women incorporates layers that control exposure and technologies like thermal screens and speakers, addressing our struggle with a complex reality and the need for personal protection.
